Can this give me a public IP behind Starlink or CGNAT?+
Yes. NetOps can give an eligible, online MikroTik a stable public IP even when Starlink, mobile broadband, fixed wireless or another ISP places it behind a private or shared address. You can then reach the router or approved services from outside that network.
What is CGNAT, and why does normal port forwarding fail behind it?+
CGNAT means your internet provider shares one public address among many customers. The address shown on your router is not directly reachable from the internet, so a normal port-forwarding rule on the MikroTik has nowhere public to receive the connection. A NetOps public IP provides the reachable address that is missing.
Why would a Starlink user need this?+
Many Starlink connections do not include an ordinary publicly reachable IPv4 address. Internet browsing works, but incoming connections to a camera, server or router do not. Assigning a NetOps public IP gives that eligible MikroTik a stable address for those incoming connections.
Is this the same as Dynamic DNS?+
No. Dynamic DNS gives a changing public IP an easy name, but it cannot make a private or CGNAT address reachable. This service provides the public IP itself. You may still point your own domain name to that IP.
What is the difference between a dedicated IP and a forwarded port?+
Choose a dedicated IP when the whole router needs a stable public address. Choose port forwarding when you only need one service—such as a camera, web server, game server or remote-access tool—to receive connections from the internet.
What can I use the address for?+
Common uses include remote access to a MikroTik, CCTV and NVR access, self-hosted websites, business applications, game servers and VPN endpoints. The service you open must listen on the correct port, and your router and device firewall must allow it.
Does this replace my Starlink or internet subscription?+
No. Your existing internet connection still carries the traffic and must remain active. NetOps adds a publicly reachable address to the eligible MikroTik so incoming connections can find it.
Do I need to reconfigure every device on my network?+
Usually not. When the whole router receives the address, NetOps applies the supported router-side setup. If you only want to expose one camera or server, create a forwarding rule for that device's private address and service port.
Can one router rent more than one public IP?+
Yes. Available addresses can be assigned to the same eligible MikroTik router. Each rented address, its location, status and expiry remain visible in the site workspace.
Can I forward a port through a shared address?+
Yes. NetOps chooses an available public port automatically and shows the final address and port before you use it. This is a practical choice when you need to reach one service but do not need a full dedicated IP.
Will the public IP stay the same?+
The address stays reserved for the active rental shown in your workspace. Renew it before expiry when a camera, server, DNS record or remote-access setup must keep the same address.
What should I check if my camera or server is still unreachable?+
First confirm the assignment says Active. Then check that the camera or server is powered on, uses the private address entered in the rule, listens on the selected port and allows the connection through its own firewall. The MikroTik firewall must allow the intended service as well.
What happens when a rental expires?+
The route is removed and the address returns to platform inventory. Renew before expiry if a service must keep the same address.
